A Change of Season

A Change of Season

The fast forward button was accidentally hit on my life. I know that I would have never done this to myself on purpose. Nevertheless, I find myself having to move at an accelerated pace. One would think that this would make me much more productive with lots to share. One would think... Alas, I am an oxymoron and this is not the case. My home is currently a plethora of unfinished projects and semi-shattered dreams of grandeur. But, by god, I have been living. Or, at least, helping those around me to live.

My tech guy started college this week. For some people, sending your tech guy off to college is simply one more little box to check on the generic life list. For us, it has been so much more. It is not really my story to tell, but it is one heck of a story. One that will end with a touch of brilliance because I know my tech guy pretty well.

I also have been working once again with my future film maker ensuring that he has at least a few of the tools needed to finish his own story. My life is not always my life and it takes time to play the role I was meant to play in someone else's existence. I know that my supporting role in my boys' lives is crucial to the main role that I play in my own. I feel most alive when I help them live.

Sooner than I can even imagine, I will only have one small part left to play. Unfinished rooms and spaces that are pushed to the bottom of a mostly unchecked list will have their day. For now, I am grateful to be living alongside my two greatest accomplishments.

I have managed to take a few pictures of my understated fall decor in a season that at times seems a bit overdone:
