Lavender Soft Scrub

Lavender Soft Scrub

Today, I did my weekly kitchen cleaning. This consists of wiping cabinet surfaces and counters with Castile soap, polishing stainless appliances and butcher block with lemon oil and scrubbing the sink with soft scrub. I have been wanting to make my own soft scrub cleaner using my recently purchased  lavender Castile soap and decided that today was a good time to give it a try. I thought it did a nice job on my sink leaving it shiny and smelling of lavender fields. Sadly, it did leave behind a few of my tougher stains. My soapstone sink is quite attracted to stains and doesn't like to let them go without a fight. As I have always used the Soft Scrub brand with bleach in the past, I plan on adding a little bleach to my recipe for next time. If you don't have soapstone, the recipe as is will work wonderfully. For those that want to give it a try, stir the baking soda into the soap 1/2 cup at a time until the consistency is similar to cake frosting.

Also, don't forget if you want to have your name added to the drawing for the bath salts make sure to make a comment on the 'Mystery Poem' post by tomorrow afternoon. I know a few people have had trouble figuring out how to comment in the past. If  you are not signed up as a user, you will need to click on Register at the top of the blog and create an account.
