Master Bedroom Reveal

Master Bedroom Reveal

Life has gotten a bit crazy and I feel that I have neglected my favorite pastime, this blog. It is a good crazy that will involve some upcoming changes to my site. I have branched out into helping others make their houses feel like homes. I will be sharing their beautiful transformations along with my continued efforts in my own home.

Enough with announcements and excuses.

I am not sure why the master bedroom and bathroom are always the last spaces to get attention in all of my homes. Probably, because they seem the most challenging, and in the case of the bathroom, the most expensive. But, I finally have both areas complete and am officially finished with round 1 of the inside of my Cape Cod. Due to the creative insanity that is constantly in my mind, I am always adjusting and tweaking my spaces. I hope that puts your minds at rest. There will always be plenty for me to share with you guys.

That was quite a long introduction so I will make the rest short and sweet. The master was a plain nondescript room tucked back into a dark corner on the second floor.

It had a long narrow alcove that was great for tucking in closet space, but left a strange almost unusable area that left me pondering solutions for months.

The entire room minus the alcove was a rectangle that did not allow any room for a dresser or wardrobe. Luckily, there was a nice size built in. However, it was drab and dated.

I had the least amount of hope for transforming this space, and it ended up surprising me the most. It is has become my favorite space to relax. Which is a good thing since I have to sleep in here. Without Further Ado, I will now share the new and improved master sleeping quarters.

The Master Suite

This was a fun one to fix up. I took a risk with wallpaper. I new the space needed a wow factor. But, one that did not affect my sleep pattern. I wisely chose to place it only on the focal wall that I see during the day, yet have my back to at night. In case you are wondering, I used the same color on the walls that is throughout the rest of the house, Dove White by Benjamin Moore.

Check back in for my next post. You don't want to miss the master bathroom and the story that goes along with it.
